This year, for the holiday season, Diptyque reinvents the Christmas tale with Une Nuit de Cire et d’Or. A story imagined by the Maison and brought to life visually by Exhibition through a 360° campaign.
Rooted in Saint-Germain-des-Prés, where Diptyque opened its very first boutique at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain, the campaign embodies the artistic and literary spirit of the neighborhood.
A golden, well-read cat, a forest of fir trees, and a bookstore near the Jardin des Plantes come together to bring to life a mischievous Christmas world.
The campaign and the tale unfold in three dimensions, through hand-crafted paper décors created entirely by paper artist Mathilde Nivet, like chapters escaping from the pages of a book.
A craft takeover combining paper, drawings by illustrator Vincent Puente, and a story written by Victor Pouchet — celebrating authenticity and the handcrafted savoir-faire so dear to Diptyque.
The tale also comes to life in digital. With stop-motion director Alice Kunisué, we created a series of whimsical Christmas vignettes where every special effect was made by hand.
From the cat’s hypnotized eyes to the flight of a golden pinecone, each scene brings a passage of the tale to life with emotion and authenticity, preserving the spirit of craftsmanship.
